A poor boarding house room... The young poet, with disheveled hair, bent double, is leaning over his desk, working... A pen in his hand, papers tangled in front of him, a mixed pile of books... A freshly lit candle on the table... A tousled bed on a low mattress, left exactly as it was left... A glass of sedimentary water and an alarm clock on the small table adjacent to the bed... An old dresser... One of the drawers of the dresser is open sideways... A tired shirt hangs from the open drawer. A moldy mirror on the dresser... Old-timey postcards on the edge of the mirror... A gas stove in the middle... A faint tongue of flame on the sooty window of the gas stove... On the walls are pictures of the youth of the Greek kokana, the owner of the boarding house... It is obvious from the two small and gray windows that the room is in the attic... (From Inside the Book) Editor's Note: There were more stories until the 6th edition. Now their numbers have decreased.
