When everything was destroyed overnight, it was as if humanity had woken up in the morning. We are so human that we have nothing. We are so human that we are all in need. Even those who come to help… We are in such a helpless state that we shed tears of joy for those who survived. Yet they were all alive anyway.
Some have lost their arms, some their legs, but we are happy that life still goes on for them. Mothers and fathers who have lost their children are ashamed to cry, thinking of those who have suffered greater pain. They are ashamed to mourn. They hold their eyes instead of their tongues or their lumpy throats. When I look at them, I understand those who hold their eyes, I want to cry instead of them.
