When I read Demirtaş's stories, I regretted that he had become a writer if only his sense of responsibility towards his people, his country, and the world had not been more important. Then, I felt ashamed of the selfishness of my literary-artistic vein: in that case, literature would gain a writer, but Turkey would be deprived of a politician of Demirtaş's caliber, an important leader of the future, and the hope for peace and freedom.

The disciplines of politics and art are not similar. While politics has the principle of saying what is politically correct at the right time and hiding real thoughts, the artist is conditioned to share his most secret feelings with the largest audience by digging his heart out, so to speak. In this respect, I think we should place Selahattin Demirtaş's valuable stories in a special place. These stories, which reflect the cry of a sensitive heart in the face of pain, touch a much deeper human vein than politics.
The fact that the book is written in a meticulous and fluent Turkish is also commendable from both an aesthetic and social perspective. The common denominator that will unite everyone in this country is hidden in the magical creativity of art. Because art is the language of conscience. Selahattin Demirtaş also speaks this language.
