Ibn Khaldun is considered the founding father of philosophy of history, sociology, anthropology, economics, in short, social sciences. His Muqaddimah is a masterpiece that has been carefully read by all the world's leading intellectuals and whose ideas have been admired by many heads of state.
Roger Garaudy, in his work The Contribution of Islamic Civilization to Humanity, which he wrote before becoming a Muslim, devoted more than ten pages to Ibn Khaldun and saw him as “the forerunner of Descartes and Montesquieu and the Karl Marx of Islam.” The famous philosopher of history Arnold Toynbee said, “Without a doubt, the Muqaddimah is the greatest work of its kind that no mind has ever produced, anywhere, at any time!” Engels used the Muqaddimah in his social assessments and provided a very concise summary of Ibn Khaldun’s views in his article titled “Contribution to the Early History of Christianity.” Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said, “The name Ibn Khaldun alone is an indication of what a brilliant scientific age Islamic history has experienced!”
